I got the following error message:
"Couldn't copy the file "GLOBALROOT\Device\HarddiskVolumeShadowCopy18\System Volume Information\18{3808876b-c176-4e48-b7ae-04046e6cc752}": access denied"
What is the cause of this error ?
Cheers, Filip

The strange thing is: the harddisk in my desktop PC is divided in two partitions, "C:windows" and "D: data". D: is used for data, while my Operating System is running on C: My source drive for backup is the D-drive. Since my OS is running on the C-drive, I wouldn't expect the "system volume information" folder to be located on the D-drive. Still, I get that error message ?? Also, can I edit a setting so that Cobian Backup does not attempt to approach that folder ? Thanks again, Filip :-) Edited by user Wednesday, May 09, 2012 12:16:05 PM(UTC)

This would be on every disk that this service is enabled on. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/309531 - Enable access to the folder (remove also) http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310405 - How to turn off and turn on System Restore in Windows XP Steps to turn off System Restore Click Start, right-click My Computer, and then click Properties. In the System Properties dialog box, click the System Restore tab. Click to select the Turn off System Restore check box. Or, click to select the Turn off System Restore on all drives check box. Click OK.
